TANZEN UND SÄEN
– Screening
Sound design & editing: Khaled Kurbeh.

Artist Alex Head (he/him), reads his 2021 work from cover to cover, live for the last six months of non-private access to Berlin’s historic free-radio airwaves. Accompanied by resident musicians, the project will broadcast every first and third Wednesday, with each live recording forming this bandcamp released audiobook of Ricochet.
This independent, four-year research project is carefully explained and articulated for the audio-book in which the author draws upon eight years of experience as the founder of the itinerant radio platform SUB_ʇXƎʇ R∀DIO. He also co-hosts the monthly radio hour and podcast: Radio Against Repression that covers censorship and de-funding in Berlin Germany.

Schloss Britz presents an exhibition themed around carpets at the intersection of contemporary art and cultural history.
Six artistic positions conceptually explore the richly faceted medium’s cultural heritage, colonial history, and material technique. The exhibition unfurls throughout the historic building, including in the grounds and permanent exhibition. The explorative and subjective nature of cartography serves as a meta-phoric guide for the exhibition, likening carpets to maps: their formation of individual lines or threads coalesce to transpose, carry and communicate information. Carpets are mobile commodities that bear traces of use, damage and repair, traversing value, time and geography.

»Grounded Outer Space People« is a nomadic artist residency/music ensemble investigating the relationship between transmigration and music. Operating in a temporary studio the group of artists inhabits the gallery space and expands the exhibition-like frame through ensemble rehearsals, concerts, presentations, performances, sound- and visual works, and workshops. Upscaled scores and drawings extend over the gallery walls setting forth the launch of »Vostok 7« vinyl, a radio play conceived as a reenactment of the spaceship that has yet to be built. Driven through the perceptual shift from the visual to the sonic, the project operates a mobile sound system, a radio station, and a listening space full of musical instruments and sonic devices.
